Held By The Grip Of God

Held by the Grip of God

“I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me” (Philippians 3:12).

Never choose to be a worker for God, but once God has placed His call on you, woe is to you if you “turn aside to the right hand or to the left” (Deuteronomy 5:32). We are not here to work for God because we have chosen to do so, but because God has “laid hold of” us. And once He has done so, we never have this thought, “Well, I’m really not suited for this.” What you are to preach is also determined by God, not by your own natural leanings or desires. Keep your soul steadfastly related to God, and remember that you are called not simply to convey your testimony but also to preach the gospel. Every Christian must testify to the truth of God, but when it comes to the call to preach, there must be the agonizing grip of God’s hand on you—your life is in the grip of God for that very purpose. How many of us are held like that?

Never water down the Word of God, but preach it in its undiluted sternness. There must be unflinching faithfulness to the Word of God, but when you come to personal dealings with others, remember who you are—you are not some special being created in heaven, but a sinner saved by grace.

“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do … I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13–14).

The Discipline Of Hearing

The Discipline of Hearing

“Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops” (Matthew 10:27).

https://fromtimetoeternity.com/?p=3129&preview=true

Sometimes God puts us through the experience and discipline of darkness to teach us to hear and obey Him. Songbirds are taught to sing in the dark, and God puts us into “the shadow of His hand” until we learn to hear Him (Isaiah 49:2). “Whatever I tell you in the dark …”—pay attention when God puts you into darkness, and keep your mouth closed while you are there. Are you in the dark right now in your circumstances, or in your life with God? If so, then remain quiet. If you open your mouth in the dark, you will speak while in the wrong mood—darkness is the time to listen. Don’t talk to other people about it; don’t read books to find out the reason for the darkness; just listen and obey. If you talk to other people, you cannot hear what God is saying. When you are in the dark, listen, and God will give you a very precious message for someone else once you are back in the light.

After every time of darkness, we should experience a mixture of delight and humiliation. If there is only delight, I question whether we have really heard God at all. We should experience delight for having heard God speak, but mostly humiliation for having taken so long to hear Him! Then we will exclaim, “How slow I have been to listen and understand what God has been telling me!” And yet God has been saying it for days and even weeks. But once you hear Him, He gives you the gift of humiliation, which brings a softness of heart—a gift that will always cause you to listen to God now.

Words Of Salvation

Greetings brothers and sisters, grace and peace to you in the name of God our

Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. I thank God for you and the love we share

in fellowship with one another because of the love God has for us all. God has given us

the heart to care for one another. He also has given us the responsibility to reach out and give

the words of salvation to those who are in their current state dead in their trespasses and sin.

God has given us the knowledge we need to accomplish such a task.  The more we understand the

better we are equipped to communicate in such a way even a young child will be able to understand

and receive the words of life. Lord God help me to encourage my brothers and sisters by increasing

their understanding  so that they may become a blessing to those who otherwise would be lost,

Thank You, Lord, in Jesus name, Amen

https://fromtimetoeternity.com/words-of-salvation/

4And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. (Luke 23:42,43)

Christ being crucified with transgressors was not a matter of chance. This was spoken of  700 years

before by Isaiah  53:12. Isaiah said that “He was numbered with the transgressors”. It was a

demonstration of the unfathomable shame He endured on our behalf.  Jesus occupation of this position

showed that He was despised and rejected of men (Isa 53:3). While He was suffering, and in His shame,

He demonstrated that He is God. He prayed for the forgiveness of His enemies (Luke 23:34). He personally

offered salvation to the repentant thief, only God can forgive sins (Mark 2:7). Before He went to the cross

He raised the dead (John 11:44).

Many think that because they enjoy friendship with Christians that they are saved. Some people think that

because they go to church that they are saved. It is very important for everyone to know that it is only those

who are repentant, only those who believe in Jesus, only those who believe that He can save them will be saved.

You would not ask Jesus to forgive you and save you If you didn’t believe that He could. Only the repentant thief was

saved. The one that did not repent condemned His self. 7For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;

but that the world through him might be saved He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is

condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.(John 3:17-18).

The Salvation of the repentant thief was final, Just as the condemnation of the unrepentant thief. God’s word says

” And it is appointed unto men once to die, but after that the judgment” (Heb 9:27).

The thief didn’t believe as a result of Christ spoken witness on the cross, It was the very presence of Christ next to him on the

cross that was sufficient enough to convict him. No one can say that because he has not been spoken to that he has not received the

witness by the Spirit of God. Jesus is the true light which lights every man that comes into the world. (John 1:19). The true light

was always in the world, before, during, and after His incarnation. There has never been a time in the world when this light was not

the cause of any body’s enlightenment who believe. This Light is constant and everpresent.

No one who is lost can blame his or her lack of salvation on the lack of provision of the light. My friends as seen by the graphic

demonstration of the cross, everyone will not be saved. Everyone who is saved will, or should attribute that salvation to God’s

initiative in providing salvation through Christ. My friends these are the last days. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ

is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead You shall be saved. For with the heart one believes unto

righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9,10). Choose Christ today, don’t worry

He will take care of you and see you through. If this message has helped you, Let me know, blog me. If you have made the decision

to choose Jesus and trust Him for your salvation Let Me know. Thank You, Lord, Amen.

God Bless You

The Cost Of Sanctification

The Cost of Sanctification

https://fromtimetoeternity.com/?p=3052&preview=true

“May the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely …” (1 Thessalonians 5:23).

When we pray, asking God to sanctify us, are we prepared to measure up to what that really means? We take the word sanctification much too lightly. Are we prepared to pay the cost of sanctification? The cost will be a deep restriction of all our earthly concerns and an extensive cultivation of all our godly concerns. Sanctification means to be intensely focused on God’s point of view. It means to secure and to keep all the strength of our body, soul, and spirit for God’s purpose alone. Are we really prepared for God to perform in us everything for which He separated us? And after He has done His work, are we then prepared to separate ourselves to God just as Jesus did? “For their sakes I sanctify Myself …” (John 17:19). The reason some of us have not entered into the experience of sanctification is that we have not realized the meaning of sanctification from God’s perspective. Sanctification means being made one with Jesus so that the nature that controlled Him will control us. Are we really prepared for what that will cost? It will cost absolutely everything in us which is not of God.

Are we prepared to be caught up in the full meaning of Paul’s prayer in this verse? Are we prepared to say, “Lord, make me, a sinner saved by grace, as holy as You can”? Jesus prayed that we might be one with Him, just as He is one with the Father (see John 17:21–23). The resounding evidence of the Holy Spirit in a person’s life is the unmistakable family likeness to Jesus Christ and the freedom from everything which is not like Him. Are we prepared to set ourselves apart for the Holy Spirit’s work in us?

Spiritual Dejection “

Spiritual Dejection

https://fromtimetoeternity.com/?p=3049&preview=true

“We were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, today is the third day since these things happened” (Luke 24:21).

Every fact that the disciples stated was right, but the conclusions they drew from those facts were wrong. Anything that has even a hint of dejection spiritually is always wrong. If I am depressed or burdened, I am to blame, not God or anyone else. Dejection stems from one of two sources—I have either satisfied a lust or I have not had it satisfied. In either case, dejection is the result.

Lust means “I must have it at once.” Spiritual lust causes me to demand an answer from God, instead of seeking God Himself who gives the answer. What have I been hoping or trusting God would do? Is today “the third day” and He has still not done what I expected? Am I, therefore, justified in being dejected and in blaming God? Whenever we insist that God should give us an answer to prayer we are off track. The purpose of prayer is that we get a hold of God, not of the answer. It is impossible to be well physically and to be dejected because dejection is a sign of sickness. This is also true spiritually. Dejection spiritually is wrong, and we are always to blame for it.

We look for visions from heaven and for earth-shaking events to see God’s power. Even the fact that we are dejected is proof that we do this. Yet we never realize that all the time God is at work in our everyday events and in the people around us. If we will only obey, and do the task that He has placed closest to us, we will see Him. One of the most amazing revelations of God comes to us when we learn that it is in the everyday things of life that we realize the magnificent deity of Jesus Christ.

Come To Me

                                            COME TO ME

https://fromtimetoeternity.com/?p=3042&preview=true

June 11, 2018I that God for allowing me to share His word with you. Lord help me as

I share your word concerning the relief you have provided for us in our burdensome condition.

In Jesus name, Amen.

Greeting my friends, grace, and peace to you in the name of God our Father and His Son

and The Holy Spirit.

Everyone at some point in life takes inventory of their life. Some look and blame others for what

They see. Some like what they see and still others feel heartbroken and hopeless. They don’t

Like what they see, and they know that they are powerless to change their condition. I once asked

A young man if he knew where he was going after he dies? He told me to hell.

Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart:

and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light (Matt 11:28-30).

Whatever your problem Jesus says to you come to me. Jesus doesn’t say do this or do that and

Then come to me. He says come to me. Whatever your problem is, come to me. The trouble is that

You have a stubborn heart. The last thing you want to do is come to Jesus. This one simple childlike

Thing  “come to me”. Jesus makes Himself the test of your genuineness. At the most unexpected moments

in your life, Jesus whispers “come to me,” and you are immediately drawn to him. Personal contact

with the Lord Jesus Christ changes everything.

The attitude you need to have when you come is one where your will has made the determination to give

up everything and deliberately commits it to Jesus. When you do this Jesus says I’ll give you rest. He is saying

that He will sustain you. He will cause you to stand firm. He is not saying I will hold your hand, I will put you

to bed, I will sing you to sleep. In essence, He is saying I will get you out of bed, I will get you out of your listlessness

and exhaustion. I will get you out of your condition of being half dead while you are still alive.

I will penetrate you with the spirit of life, and you will be sustained with the perfection of vital activity.

We become weak and pitiful and we talk about suffering as if that is the will of God for us. Where is the majestic vitality

and power of the Son Of God in that? Jesus didn’t save you for you to suffer and be pitiful.

God has plans for you and the work has already been prepared. If you think you are going to hell,

It doesn’t have to end that way. Jesus says to you come to me. There is nothing too hard for God  (Gen 18:14).

My friends if you have made the decision to come to Jesus Contact me, Blog this post. God Bless You.

The Compelling Majesty Of His Power

The Compelling Majesty of His Power

https://fromtimetoeternity.com/the-compelling-majesty-of-his-power/

“The love of Christ compels us …” (2 Corinthians 5:14).

Paul said that he was overpowered, subdued, and held as in a vise by “the love of Christ.” Very few of us really know what it means to be held in the grip of the love of God. We tend so often to be controlled simply by our own experience. The one thing that gripped and held Paul, to the exclusion of everything else, was the love of God. “The love of Christ compels us … .” When you hear that coming from the life of a man or woman it is unmistakable. You will know that the Spirit of God is completely unhindered in that person’s life.

When we are born again by the Spirit of God, our testimony is based solely on what God has done for us, and rightly so. But that will change and be removed forever once you “receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you …” (Acts 1:8). Only then will you begin to realize what Jesus meant when He went on to say, “… you shall be witnesses to Me … .”

Not witnesses to what Jesus can do—that is basic and understood—but “witnesses to Me … .” We will accept everything that happens as if it were happening to Him, whether we receive praise or blame, persecution or reward. No one is able to take this stand for Jesus Christ who is not totally compelled by the majesty of His power. It is the only thing that matters, and yet it is strange that it’s the last thing we as Christian workers realize. Paul said that he was gripped by the love of God and that is why he acted as he did. People could perceive him as mad or sane—he did not care. There was only one thing he lived for—to persuade people of the coming judgment of God and to tell them of “the love of Christ.” This total surrender to “the love of Christ” is the only thing that will bear fruit in your life. And it will always leave the mark of God’s holiness and His power, never drawing attention to your personal holiness.
