The Time Is Near

Rev. Reginald Stevens
Love and peace to you, and your family, in the name of God our Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who has given us in eternity past the blessed hope of everlasting life, I thank God for you. I miss the fellowship that we have shared. I must confess that there is so much happening that I found it very difficult to do, even so, I have not forgotten about you and I think of you all the time.

It is true that so much is happening around us that we become distracted from what we know the Lord wants us to do. We are constantly being put into shock from that which is happening in the world around us. If that isn’t enough, we also have problems just trying to live. People in our communities are dying senseless deaths at alarming rates. People are being murdered every day. Drive-by shootings, robberies, expressway killings, baby killing, mass killing of children, mass killings of adults, terror attacks killing hundreds. Evil is spreading across the face of the earth taking victims by the thousands. Just when we think it couldn’t get any worse, Satan uncovers another diabolical plot a hundred times worse than before.  Even nature has risen against us in catastrophic ways. We must remember what Jesus has told us

(Mat 24:4-8) 4. Jesus answered them, “See to it that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name and say, ‘I am the Christ,’£ and they will deceive many people. 6 You are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See to it that you are not alarmed. These things must take place, but the end hasn’t come yet. 7 For nation will rise up in arms against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8. But all these things are only the beginning of the birth pains. That is why I thank God for He has blessed us through the death of his Son with the hope of everlasting life, proving it, when He raised Jesus from the dead. Because of His great mercy in eternity past (thank you God) He has given us a new birth to an ever-living hope (1Pet 1:3). Not only that but just as we desire to leave our children an inheritance to make life better for them in the future when we go home to be with the Lord. Some of us will be able to leave our families well off, and some of us won’t be able to leave them anything but a good name. The most important thing you can do for your children and your relatives is to help them to come to know Jesus because anything you leave them won’t save them. God has given us an inheritance kept in heaven that is infinitely better and cannot be destroyed corrupted or changed and it is reserved for us in heaven it is glorious, it is certain, and it is safely kept and preserved until we come and possess it Amen.

My friend, we need to Bless God. The question comes to mind how can a man bless God? The question is understandable because God has and owns everything. He is not dependent on anyone or anything outside of himself for anything. On the other hand, everyone and everything depends upon God. God is the only being who is totally independent. God has all life and glory, goodness, blessedness in and of himself. God is not in need of any creature He created. God is a Spirit, infinite eternal, and unchangeable in his being, wisdom, power, holiness, goodness, and truth. We can bless God with a just sincere acknowledgment of His excellence and blessedness with thanksgiving that he has given us. Thank You, Lord God and Father, of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Lastly, through faith, we are being protected by God’s power for a salvation that is ready to be revealed at the end of time (1Pet1:6) or when we die or whichever comes first. That is when our soul will be admitted into the presence of Christ. We beheld his glory and that’s not all. When the last day comes our bodies will be raised from the dead and our souls will be reunited with our bodies never to be separated from one another again, and judgment is going to be pronounced upon angels and men and Christ is going to publicly honor his servant in the face of the world. Amen God is good!

If you do not know God, know this, God love you and care about you. He has provided a way for you to have a loving relationship with Him. The Bible says God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). This is the only way God gave for us to be saved. We must believe in the saving act of God’s Son for our salvation and absolutely nothing else. If you need help contact me. [email protected]
